John is a veteran television and video producer, director and writer. He’s shared a national Emmy, two Headliners, the Gabriel, Wilbur, TIVA Peer, and numerous Tellys and other awards. 

He has supervised, scripted and produced series, documentaries and news coverage for NBC, PBS, Al-Jazeera English, National Geographic, Investigation Discovery and Discovery’s Science, Times, Health and Military channels, among other networks. As a Washington Bureau producer for "Dateline NBC," John covered breaking news from the Clinton presidency through the 9/11 and anthrax attacks, to the Washington-area sniper spree. At the NBC Investigative Unit, John produced stories for "Nightly News with Tom Brokaw," the "Today Show," and MSNBC.

While at Discovery Health, John originated and supervised “Daily Rounds,” a five-minute newsbreak hosted by Mary Alice Williams. He also produced for several series and documentaries on such varied subjects as heart disease, dream interpretation and laparoscopic and bariatric surgery. He was frequently in New York interviewing heart-transplant surgeon Dr. Mehmet Oz at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital. John also contributed magazine-length stories to RLTV’s Healthline, and has written and produced films for The Johns Hopkins Hospital and Cleveland Clinic.

John wrote and produced the award-winning public television documentary Thinking Money: The Psychology Behind Our Best and Worst Financial Decisions. In addition to documentaries, John was a contributing producer for the long-running PBS magazine show “Religion & Ethics NewsWeekly.” He has worked on numerous programs for the BBC as well as other British, European and Australian networks. John’s written and produced dozens of videos for federal agencies including the NIH, US Army, FBI, Dept. of Labor and VA.

John earned a master’s at Tufts University’s Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, and undergraduate degree at Boston College and the University of East Anglia in England. He lives in Arlington, VA.
